Wildside Discovery CIC
Welcome to Wildside Discovery
Explore, learn and connect with nature through Wildside Discovery, a community interest company focused on access to adventure for all.
We connect people with their wildside, offering opportunities to explore the benefits of blue and green space while empowering the individual.
About Us
Connecting people to nature
Wildside Discovery’s mission is to engage, educate and enable people to build nature connections, improve environmental education and achieve personal growth through a holistic approach.
Its founders, Charlotte, Kate and Andrew, all share a passion for facilitating engagement in the outdoors, particularly around blue and green space. Wildside Discovery CIC believes everyone should have the chance to connect with nature, wildlife and the natural environment, regardless of background, ability or circumstance.
What We Do
Outdoor experiences that are shaped around real access needs
Wildside Discovery CIC delivers projects, sessions and talks combining immersive activities with nature education. From paddleboarding on the river to nature walks in woodland, Wildside Discovery is about connecting people with nature. We offer tailored, instructor-led provision focused on individual needs, fun and enjoyment.
Paddlesport and water confidence sessions
From first-time paddling to personal performance awards, our canoe, kayak and paddleboard sessions build water confidence, practical skills and confidence both in and on the water.
Bushcraft and practical skill delivery
Shelter building, fire lighting, knots, safe tool use and problem-solving tasks help people learn practical bushcraft skills in beautiful natural settings with qualified leaders.
Experience trips around nature and wildlife connection
Experience trips create close-up nature connection, from sunset paddles to see beavers to sea kayaking, wildlife spotting and time in blue and green spaces.
Educational talks and walks
Educational talks and walks can cover water safety, blue and green space connection, river ecology, geography, wellbeing through nature and practical outdoor learning.
Schools and group engagement
School and group sessions are shaped around each group’s needs, helping remove barriers so everyone can connect with nature, wildlife and the environment.
Who It Supports
Removing barriers for all
Wildside Discovery offers targeted support for people facing barriers to accessing outdoor activities, whether those barriers are financial, social, cultural, physical or emotional.
We work with groups including young people, women and girls, people with special educational needs or disabilities, the BAME community, and other marginalised or disadvantaged groups.
We also work with schools, charities, community groups, referral units, local authorities, businesses and organisations who want to help more people connect with nature.
